Collecting Forceps

Collecting forceps can be quite useful in the field, depending on the type of insect one is hunting. I usually bring a pair of relatively sharp forceps for collecting ants at baits on the bark of trees. I have also used them for collecting aquatic insects from a large white pan. Others prefer more flexible and less sharp forceps.

Straight tipped collecting forceps.
